Pterygium is a common condition characterized by vascularized conjunctival tissues appearing as a triangular conjunctival lesion with base and Apex. Base merging with nasal aspect of bulbar conjunctiva and Apex cornea it’s epithelium may undergo malignant change and stroma cystic degeneration. Exact cause not known could be Genetic familial ultraviolet rays play a most important role. Xeroderma pigmentosa is a risk factor.
