Hip Fracture in Religious Geriatric Patient. A Demographic Problem?

In the second half of the twentieth century there was an accelerated growth of the world population reaching the figure of 6 billion inhabitants. And according to data provided by ONE-CEPDE, 1999a in the first quarter of this century would reach 7823.7 million. While the population of developed countries will double in 233 years, (r = 0.3%) that of underdeveloped countries will double in 41 years (r = 1.7%) (NSO-ECDE, 1999a). It is estimated that from 2015 there will be a decreasing rate of increases, reaching between 2045-2050 43 million inhabitants each year (UNFPA; 1999).
