  Undergraduate Studies: B.Sc.(Ag)Hons.,( BCKV) 1st Class.
  Post Graduate Studies: M.Sc. (Agricultural Extension) (BCKV) 1st Class First.
  Ph.D in Agricultural Extension (BCKV).
  Special Qualification: Master Trainers of Experiential learning Cycle in ICAR-USAID, Washington programme.

Experience

 Teaching, Research & Extension experience for last 37 years.
  Former Vice-Chancellor, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (State Agricultural University), Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Registrar, Director of Extension Education and also the Head of the Department.
 Also contributed at the National Level by becoming Chairman, Site Selection Committee for establishing the Krishi Vigyan Kendra and ushered a new pace in the KVK movement across India in erstwhile Zone III and Zone-VIII.
  Worked as State level Monitor in Project Monitoring & Evaluation in ATMA and also MM Mode of Agriculture, Govt. Of West Bengal.
  Member of Executive Council Member in West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, Govt. of West Bengal, Park Street Kolkata from 2000 to 2004.
  Executive Council Member in West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, Govt. of West Bengal, Vidyasagar Bhavan, 9/2, Block-DJ, Salt Lake, Kolkata from 2000 to 2013.
  State Advisory Committee member of West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission of the Govt. of West Bengal, FD-415A, Poura Bhavan, Bidhannagar, Kolkata from 2004 (continuing).
  Becoming members as well as experts in different academic and management bodies of national and international organisations, consisting of University Selection Committee, Ph.D. committee, Extension and Research Council of different University.
  Presently member for Farmer First Programme constituted by ICAR in Zone-III.

  Course Director for the eight consecutive Winter/Summer School, ICAR which itself a brilliant achievement in the National Level for any University Professor at his level and class.
  The research areas are Leadership, Training, Audio Visual Aids, Participatory Planning and Project Management, Development Communication and Information Management, Value Added Extension.

Research Expertise

Score of research projects on Jute development; Mushroom infrastructure development; Neem based pesticides; PME in ATMA and Macro Management Mode etc and elicited invaluable empirical information in enriching the arena of agriculture and rural research.
