Microscopic organisms known as microalgae are present in both freshwater and marine aquatic settings. Because they are photosynthetic organisms, they are able to use the process of photosynthesis to turn carbon dioxide and sunlight into energy. Microalgae are renowned for their great photosynthetic efficiency and quick rates of growth. Similar to plants, microalgae are tiny, single-celled creatures that are capable of photosynthesis. They can be found in freshwater and marine ecosystems, among other aquatic settings. These creatures are able to transform sunlight and carbon dioxide (CO2) into molecules that are high in energy, like proteins, carbohydrates, and oils.
