Ganga (the "Ganges") is one of the most famous rivers of the world not only for its severely high self-purifying, anti-pathogenic and not-putrefying abilities but also for not getting cleaned even in 37 years despite availability of relevant man-power and needed material and technologies published in almost all the most prestigious journals of the world (vide the listed publications on Ganga).
