Vagrant Vulnerable Race Socotra Buzzard Buteo Socotransis at Western Cost of Charkala Salt Flat District Dwarka, Gujarat, India

Abstract

The Socotra buzzard Buteo socotransis is medium or large sized raptor from Socotra Island, Yemen. It is subspecies of wild spreaded common buzzard Buteo buteo is emigrated race and listed as a venerable species in Red-Listed of IUCN. Bird has been known to common buzzard Buteo buteo, more than 110 years, but it doesn’t recognize as an official species upto 2010, was assumed to be same species as a common buzzard Buteo buteo. But it is genetically close to Buteo rufins, but both race morphonologically very different.
