Pharmaceuticals are indispensable to contemporary medicine. They are used to treat and prevent disease, alleviate pain, and enhance the quality of life of patients. The discipline of pharmaceutics is accountable for the design, development, and production of these life-saving drugs. However, similar to other industries, pharmaceutics confronts its own set of challenges and ethical concerns. Numerous regulations govern the drug development, testing, and approval processes within the pharmaceutical industry. However, this does not always guarantee that all products introduced to the market are 100% safe and effective. In recent years, there have been numerous instances in which pharmaceuticals were withdrawn from the market due to safety concerns, highlighting the vulnerabilities of the current regulatory processes. It is of the utmost importance to ensure the quality and safety of pharmaceuticals, and the industry must endeavour to enhance its processes in order to eliminate problems before they cause harm.
