Abstract

There is a disproportionate number of COVID-19 cases among Native Americans, including exposures, hospitalizations, and deaths. Due to substandard healthcare, housing, and poverty, American Indians and Alaska Natives have a higher number of pre-existing high-risk conditions to make them more susceptible to the coronavirus. Research shows the reason why and how improvements are necessary for collecting and reporting demographic data.
