Abstract

Aquaculture, the cultivation of aquatic organisms, has been a vital source of sustenance for humanity for millennia. From rudimentary fish ponds of traditional culture systems to today's technologically advanced systems, aquaculture has provided a critical and a cheaper alternative protein source, especially in regions with limited access to other animal protein. However, traditional aquaculture practices often struggle with significant challenges, including environmental degradation, disease outbreaks, inefficient resource use, and space constraints. These limitations impede the industry's capacity to meet the ever-increasing global demand for nutritious and sustainable food.
