Mr. Vitor Augusto Cordeiro Milagres is a researcher at Gerdau SA, a company with the 4th largest area with eucalyptus reforestation in Brazil and responsible for soils, nutrition, climate and forest management.. Bachelor´s degree in forest engineering at the Federal University of the Jequitinhonha and Mucuri Valleys with exchange at the University of Maine, USA, is currently doing a master's degree in Forest Engineering at the Federal University of Lavras in the research line of silviculture. He held the position of administrative and financial manager of the Junior Enterprise Arborea Florestal and developed the course conclusion work in forest modeling for tree species for economic purposes. He was vice president of the Forest Engineering Academic Center (2012-2013).. During the undergraduate course, he conducted research in the fields of forest protection (2012-2013) and wood technology (2016). Presented work in Kastamonu, Turkey at the International Symposium on Forest Engineering (2016) and other international congresses. Mr. Milagres did two internships, at EMBRAPA Cerrados (2015) and the University of Florida, USA (2014), working in the areas of ecological restoration and forestry, respectively. Participated in 2017 of the Forest Manager Preparation Program (IPEF, Brazil). In 2017, he was a researcher at the Soil Science Geotechnology Research Group – GeoCis, working on erosion detection and quantification by aerial photo analysis, hyperspectral data and multitemporal satellite imagery. As a researcher at Gerdau SA, he is responsible for forest nutrition on all of the company's farms, totaling 170,000 hectares. Collaborated in soil mapping of farms in the central and northern central region of Minas Gerais, Brazil over an area of approximately 45,000 hectares.
