Dr. H H Kumaraswamy has earned his Ph.D., in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from Post Graduate School of ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (A Deemed University), which is the harbinger of green revolution in India. He was guided and mentored by National Professor Dr. Nagendra Kumar Singh, Director of ICAR-National Institute for Plant Biotechnology, an eminent persona in genomics and transcriptomics. Dr. Kumaraswamy has been a bright student since his school days. He is a University Gold Medallist awarded for securing the highest marks, 92.2 % (First Rank), in M.Sc. (Agricultural Biotechnology), graduating from University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru, under the guidance and mentorship of Dr. Siddarame Gowda, an eminent agricultural microbiologist. He is qualified in UGC-CSIR Senior Research Fellowhip (UGC-CSIR SRF) and National Eligibility Test (UGC-CSIR NET) in Life Sciences. Also, secured second rank in ICAR Senior Research Fellow (ICAR SRF) in the discipline of Plant Sciences. Also, he is qualified in Agricultural Research Services (ARS) and CSIR-ICAR National Eligibility Test for lectureship (ICAR- NET) in Agricultural Biotechnology. He is presently serving as Scientist (Agricultural Biotechnology) in ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research (ICAR-IIOR), Hyderabad-500 030, India. ICAR-IIOR is a premier research institute on vegetable oil in the country. His research projects mainly focus on supporting vegetable oil sector of national economy through enabling scientific and technological solutions to problems of farm production systems, aside enhancing yield and quality of vegetable oil: meeting growing demand by industry and consumer. He has guided three M.Sc. students and published more than 10 research articles in peer reviewed and NAAS rated journal of national and international repute. He has delivered more than five invited lectures in various symposiums/seminars/conferences. In the year 2017, he has been bestowed with “Best Scientist Award in Biotechnology” by International Multidisciplinary Research Foundation. He received “Best Oral Presentation Award in an International conference in the year 2017. In the has been actively involved in several projects on improving yield and quality of oilseed crops in the challenges of biotic and abiotic stresses in the face of changing climate and increasing demand for edible vegetable oils.
