Dr (Mrs.) Saranjeet Kaur Sekhon, faculty, Chandigarh University, Distt. – Mohali, Punjab has expertise in orchids and other medicinal and aromatic plants. Dr. Sekhon earned her Ph.D degree from Panjab University Chandigarh. Later she was awarded post doctoral research fellowship funded by DBT at NIPER, Mohali and has research and teaching experience of more than 11 years. She has handled externally funded 2 research projects awarded by DST, DBT on conservation of rare,endangered and threatened medicinally and floriculturally important orchid species of north-eastern and western Himalayas. She is also recipient of district level award.
Dr S.K. Sekhon is actively involved in research activities. Her research interest revolves around ex situ and in situ conservation of rare, endangered and threatened medicinally and floriculturally important orchid species and other medicinally important plant species. She is member of board of studies, reviewer of journals and Member of many Academic and Professional Bodies.
