Dr. Pijush Basak had his B.Sc.(Hons.) degree from Calcutta Universiy, India in Mathematics in 1979 and M.Sc. degree from Kalyani University, India in Applied Mathematics in 1982. Thereafter, he obtained Diploma in Statistical Quality Control and Operation Research (SQC & OR) from Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta, India in 1986 and M.Sc.(Engg.) degree in Atmospheric Science from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India in 1993. Finally, he was awarded Ph.D.(Sc.) from Jadavpur University, India, in 2006 in the field of statistical and stochastic modelling of atmospheric and environmental phenomenon. He was appointed as Scientific Programmer in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 1987. In course of time, he was appointed from Lecturer to Professor in Degree colleges from 1995 till now. He has more than 60 journal and conference publications in the field of fluid dynamics, statistical and stochastic modelling of rainfall, thunderstorm and green house gases specially connected to agriculture. He also supervised few Ph.D.(Sc.) students.
Dr. Pijush Basak research interests are modelling of atmospheric and environmental phenomenon specially relevant to agriculture.
