Youssef El Kharrassi obtained his Ph.D in Life Sciences, specialty: Biochemistry molecular and cell biology from First Class Honors and highly commended from the University of Burgundy, Faculty of Gabriel, Dijon France and the University of Hassan 1st, Faculty of Science and techniques of Settat Morocco. He worked in several international research laboratories and he supervised master and Ph.d students. During his career, he worked in the national institute of agronomic research of Settat, Morocco as a Ph.D student researcher. He investigated in the phenological and genetic behavior of cactus genotypes of different species. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral researcher in University of Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P), AgroBioSciences Division, Agriculture pole at Ben Guerir, Morocco. He has published more than ten papers in reputed journals. Those research works are focused on the nutritional valorization of olive, cactus, argan tree, Ziziphus, Melon, and PAMs. Among the studied aspects, there is the conservation, identification of the biomolecules and the genetic diversity.
Dr. Youssef El Kharrassi research interests are to study the biological effects of primary and secondary metabolites from plant adapted in arid areas, chemical characterization and biochemical composition of bioactive constituents, including antioxidants, phytochemicals, and botanicals, the impact of abiotic stress on plant yield.
