Dr Arun Kr Das has been a graduate of College of Veterinary and Animal Science, West Bengal of University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, Kolkata. After completing PhD from Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) in 2005, he joined Central Institute for Research on Goats (CIRG), Makhdoom, Mathura as a scientist in September 2005. He has been awarded prestigious BOYSCAST Fellowship 2011 by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to carry out an advance post-doctoral study on mechanisms regulating the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells into myocytes and adipocytes at Department of Animal Science, University of Wyoming, Laramie and Washington State University, Pullman, USA. He has more than 50 research publications of national and international in repute including 5 book chapters.
Dr. Arun K Das research interests are Use of bioactive food components from plants for functional food development. Dietary manipulation: impact on muscle development and growth, carcass traits, fat partitioning and meat quality. Maternal nutrition in goat/sheep on muscle development and meat quality Development of different low fat, designer and functional meat products.
