Dr. MKA Ansari was appointed as an Australian Awards Ambassador, Government of Australia. He is a recipient of an internationally competitive, prestigious Endeavour Research Award, Government of Australia, for his work in the area of developing environmentally friendly green technology (Phytoremediation). He worked as Visiting Scientist at the CERAR, UniSA, Australia. He is a receiver of the Foreign Citizens Research Award, Government of Turkey and worked as Visiting Scientist at the Department of Biology, AU, Turkey. Subsequently, he was also conferred with prominent Dr. D.S. Kothari Research Award, University Grants Commission, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India to work at the Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University), New Delhi, where he purified and characterized Cyanobacterial laccase enzyme. Later, he was selected as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biology, Yobe University, Nigeria. In recent past, he experimented to develop stress-tolerant plants together with modulation of antioxidant defence system in plants against abiotic stress, and the phytoremediation potential of mustard genotypes and some cereals crop plants. His recent research focus on the cyanobacterial biotechnology (i.e. application of cyanobacteral laccase for decolorization of synthetic toxic dyes). He has also more than Ten years of research/teaching experience in Phytormediation, Plant Stress Physiology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Plant Biotechnology and Environmental Biotechnology. His scientific achievements include publication of numerous high impact research articles in a wide variety of international peer reviewed journals as well as regulate contributions to a range of national and international conferences/seminars/workshops. Due to his extensive research expertise, he is in high demand as an external thesis examiner worldwide and also figured in various Scientific Committees globally.
