Dr. R. K. Gupta have formulated the successful grant proposals and handled many research projects as Principal investigator as well. During my scientific career, He have been able to contribute for development of IPM in Olive and Wild pomegranate, biological suppression of Parthenium and development of viral biopesticides in J&K. He have gained vital experience on green house pest management at Agricultural Research Organization, Israel under MASHAV Visiting Scientist Fellowship programme which helped him strengthen his capacity to organize and execute both laboratory experiments and greenhouse trials on biological control of whitefly, thrips and mites through mired bugs and predatory mites. Besides he possess a good international exposure and visited about twelve countries to update his skills on Bee breeding, IPM and agriculture through various scientific trips under VLIR UOS and MASHAV International Fellowship. He has successfully guided Seven M.Sc students, Two Ph,D students and currently guiding one M.Sc and two Ph.D students. he possess good scientific skills on IPM, ecological methods, bio control methodologies, statistical methods and computational techniques. Above all he have the capacity to undertake interdisciplinary teamwork as well as to undergo independent research work.
Dr. R. K. Gupta research interests are Cataloguing, conservation, utilization and of biodiversity of agriculturally beneficial insect fauna, Bioprospecting of indigenous isolates of insect viruses as potent biopesticides management of insect pests, Mass production Protocols for important predators, parasitoids, insect microbials, climate change and beneficial insects
