Dr. Luca Vitale is a researcher of the Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Systems in the Mediterranean (ISAFOM) belonging to the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). He received his M.D. in Biological Science and Ph.D. in Applied Biology (Terrestrial Ecology) at Naples University of Federico II. He studied leaf/plant/ecosystem photosynthesis in response to environment and climate by using micrometeorological (mass and energy exchange between biosphere and atmosphere), eco-physiological (gas exchange, fluorescence, optical analysis) and biochemical (photosynthetic pigments determination) approaches; soil ecology in agroecosystems by CO2 and N2O flux measurements using static and automatic chambers. He published papers on international journal such as Plant Biology; Photosynthetica; Biogeosciences; Plant, Soil and Environment; Plant Biosystems; International Journal of Biometeorology; Acta Physiologiae Plantarum; Water, Soil and Air Pollution; Journal of Agronomy and Crop Science; Science of the Total Environment; Plant and Soil; Geoscientific Model Development; Botany; Italian Journal of Agronomy; Applied Soil Ecology. He has been reviewer of international journals such as African Journal of Biotechnology; Plant Biology; American Journal of Experimental Agriculture; Philippine Agricultural Scientist; iForest - Biogeosciences and Forestry; European Journal of Soil Science; African Journal of Agricultural Research; Journal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science; Nutrient Cycling in Agroecosystems; Plos One; Photosynthetica; Plant Methods.
Dr. Luca Vitale research interests are Crop physiology; Crop ecology; soil ecology; Ecosystem fluxes
