Professor of Sports Sciences at University of Beira Interior, Portugal. His career spans both Sport Sciences and Education. His research interests lie at the intersection of training and coaching methodology and pedagogy, mainly in collective sports with great focus on Soccer. Puzzled with the difficulties posed to the knowledge integration and changes in the praxis of coaching and activities orientation that could be useful for everyone, He have been working with a team that supplements an empirical coaching and educational perspective and proposes a break with the traditional line of the educational process, adapting the pedagogical process to the existing skills at knowledge and technological skills to implement a more efficient process, fading the gap between opposite poles (universities and the world of coaching/education). He have published several books, research papers and communications. Given the concerns with the restructuring of the organizational frameworks and the functionality of higher education and science structures and its updating given the current contexts, He was also president of the most representative Portuguese Union of higher education teachers and researchers (SNESup).
