Dr. Marios Loucas is an Orthopedic surgery resident at the University Hospital Balgrist in Zurich, Switzerland. He is also a research fellow at the Swiss Centre for Orthopedic Innovation. After completing his medical studies at the University of Johannes Gutenberg in Mainz, Germany, he started his Trauma Surgery Rotation at the City Hospital Zurich. He has served as president of the Society for Arthroscopy and joint surgery for all medical students in German-speaking countries particularly for the program Mentor4students. His main research areas are Shoulder and Spine Surgery, Lower Extremity, Biomechanics, and Virtual reality. Recently he conducted several biomechanical studies with a particular focus on shoulder instability.
