Phibi Philip Naduvathu, graduate in Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc) and a post-graduate (M.F.Sc) in Fish Genetics & Breeding from India. He possesses considerable knowledge and experience in fish genetics, biotechnology & breeding, sustainable aquaculture & fisheries and have extended interest in seaweed, aquatic ecology & conservation, climate change, statistics, astrobiology and artificial intelligence. He believed that genetic interventions are the key to sustainable food production & world food security and thereby to global peace. His career task is to contribute the best to make the world a better place to live by eliminating hunger and poverty and career goal is to become a scientist-cum-entrepreneur of significant impact. He is an awardee of the prestigious 'Commonwealth Scholarship' by the UK government, 'National Talent Scholarship' (NTS) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Institutional Scholarship of ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education. His key research was a part of World Bank's (funded) National Agricultural Higher Education Programme (NAHEP) to develop energy-efficient and environment protective aquaculture technologies for degraded soils. The research evaluated the performance of different common carp stocks reared in inland saline water at various salinities and concluded that "Amur" strain of Common Carp is best suited for fish production in inland saline areas of Northern India. Related research areas are sustainable aquaculture, population & quantitative genetics, growth study, common carp biology, stock characterisation, morphometry, inland saline areas, selective breeding and data analysis using SAS.
