Dr. Salwa Bouabdallah is a Board-Certified Doctor of Biological Science Faculty of Science Bizerta University Carthage, she defended master's degree on plant molecular and cellular physiology from Faculty of Science University El Manar Tunis, and master's degree in natural science ISEFC University Virtuelle, she has completed her degree in Public Health speciality Medical Imaging through Higher School of Health and techniqual sciences University El Manar Tunis. Since 1995 she was recruited at the magnetic resonance imaging center of Tunis. Her main topics of research relate to the natural drug discovery, the valorization of bioactive molecules of biological interest, she have developed a research focus on the phytochemical characterization of polyphenols and saponins isolated from same medicinal plants used in Ayurveda. She studied the biological effect of polyphenols and saponin in vitro and in vivo assay. In connection with her research, she has expertise in the relation ships between diet and health, risk-benefit analysis of food, and functional foods for obesisty, cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. She has focus particularly in the role of polyphenols and saponin on modulating cancer cell apoptosis via caspase pathways. Post doctoral researcher at the group: Identification and Characterization of Biological Active Molecules at Alexandre Ion Cuza Iasi.
