Dr. Silvia Di Giacomo received her degree in Pharmacy in 2009 and the title of "PhD in Toxicology" in 2014 at Sapienza University of Rome. Here she worked as Postdoctoral Fellow from 2014 at present. Along these years, she carried out two research period abroad: from November 2012 to May 2013 at the Institute of Pharmacy and Molecular Biotechnology of Heidelberg University (Germany), while from February 2016 to July 2016 at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology of Salamanca University (Spain). She collaborated to various research projects (2011-2015) and in 2016 she obtained a University grant as a Principal Investigator.
Dr. Silvia Di Giacomo main research interest is to evaluate the possible inhibition by natural substances of the efflux pumps (ABC transporters) involved in multidrug resistance and of the pathways related in their overexpression in cancer cells. She is author of 16 papers published in peer-reviewed journals and referee for several international journals.
