Dr. Vijay Kumar is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Institute of Neuropsychology and Neurosciences at Amity University, Noida, India. He has obtained his PhD in Biophysics from All India Institute of Medical sciences, New Delhi, India. His PhD research was focused on the structural and biophysical characterization of Heparin Binding Proteins of Human Seminal Plasma through Structural Proteomics. After his PhD, he did his Postdoctoral training from the University of Massachusetts Medical school, Massachusetts, USA. His postdoctoral research was focused on Folding and Aggregation studies of proteins, involved in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). After that he has moved to India and joined as a Principal Investigator in Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, under his own project funded by Science and Engineering Research board, New Delhi, India. His research interests focus on the area of Protein biochemistry of Neurodegenerative diseases, computational biophysics of proteins folding, misfolding and aggregation and the role of toxic RNA species involved in the Neurodegenerative Diseases. He has published more than 40 publications in his field of specialization.
