Dr. Daniela Starling is an Assistant Professor of Neuroscience and Human Anatomy at University Center – UNA in Brazil, School of Physiotherapy and Physical Education. Prior to coming to UNA, she was working in as Assistant Professor at Institute of Education and Culture, Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Daniela received her Biologist degree from Federal University of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, Brazil in 1997. In 2007 she received her master´s degree in Cell Biology and in 2012 her the doctoral degree in Neuroscience. Her responsibilities at UNA includes teaching Neuroscience and Anatomy to graduation students. She also teaches students how to produce a project and its development. She is a member of the University board and extension projects. The past two years I have been studying “Teaching and Learning in Higher Education” with the support of Tampere´s University. It has been helping me to understand my students and how to improve their learning in the classroom. Apart from teaching, she is actively involved in research projects.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Daniela Starling research interest is basically in Neuroscience (neurophysiology, behavioral, educational) and Alzheimer diagnosis using biomarkers. She is currently working on the research project “Biomarkers in saliva and oral mucosa of Alzheimer disease patients.” and " Retrieval practice as a learning strategy for individuals with Down Syndrome ".
