Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bienvenu Massamba Lebwaze trained in Hematopathology, immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology. After obtaining my MD degree from the University of Kinshasa in 2011, I pursue the specialization in pathology at the same University. Animated by my desire to become a clinical investigator, concomitantly during my specialization I obtained a Msc from the Unversity of Paris 5. Immediately after completion of my specialization, I started a teaching carrier in the Department of Pathology as lecturer in 2007. It is through this position that I was enrolled in the joint PhD program in pathology between the university of Kinshasa and University of Paris 11 in France. Since then, I have been heavily involved in the training of pathologists and medical students across DRC starting with the two school of medicine in Kinshasa (University of Kinshasa and at the Université Protestante au Congo), to the University of Kisangani. I also do teach at the University Marien NGOUABI in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo. I also serve as the director of research in the department of pathology at the University of Kinshasa and as the president of DRC’s National League against cancer. In addition to clinical, teaching. And mentoring and administrative commitments, I maintain a very active and productive line of research.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bienvenu Massamba Lebwaze have the training and Skills, the administrative, research implementation, and mentoring experience to lead the Rwanda/DRC/Einstein HPV/HIV-associated malignancy in DRC as country PI. I already have a working relationship with Dr. Yotebieng through our joint project on placenta pathologies in women living with HIV. Through my research, I have contributed to the better understanding of the role of histopathology in the diagnosis of lymphoma.
