Asst. Prof. Dr. Lara Baticic, PhD received her Master of Science in Medical Chemistry and Biochemistry from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka in 2008 and the Ph.D. in Medical Chemistry and Biochemistry in 2010. She works as an assistant professor at the department of Medical Chemistry, Biochemistry and Clinical Chemistry at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka, Croatia. She has authored and co-authored 17 original scientific papers in international journals cited in Current Contents, more than 30 other scientific publications, 4 book chapters and supervised many Diploma thesis so far. She reviewed different original scientific papers as well as review papers for recognized scientific journals. The area of scientific research of assist. prof L. Batičić Pučar, PhD comprises mostly medical chemistry and biochemistry. Her scientific interest is focused on investigating ethiopatogenic bases of different chronic diseases (inflammatory bowel diseases, rheumatoid diseases, diabetes and its complications) and the involvement of Dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP IV/CD26) in molecular mechanisms leading to disease development, progression and resolution.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Lara Baticic is specially devoted to the investigation of tissue regeneration and reparation, angiogenesis, neovascularization, remodeling and scar formation, in physiological as well pathological conditions with special emphasis to hyperglicaemia.
