Dr. Puja Kumari is an Immunologist by training and is deeply interested in studying host-pathogen interactions. Currently, she is working as a post-doctoral research scientist at University of Connecticut Health Center (UConn Health), Farmington, CT, USA. She did her Ph.D. at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal, India. During her Ph.D., she researched on herpesviral-immunology and reported a key molecular mechanism involved in oncogenicity induced by human herpesviruses. Her findings have been published in reputed and peer reviewed journals. She followed her interest to study host-pathogen interactions by joining a research team at UConn Health, which is working on an NIH funded research to reveal the molecular mechanisms of bacterial sepsis.
