Dr. Kapoor received his PhD in Cancer Nanotechnology in 2017 from Center for Biomedical Engineering (CBME), Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He obtained his Master’s degree in Microbiology and Bachelors in Industrial Microbiology from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, India. Previously, he worked at Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), Chandigarh, where he worked on optimization of various parameters for mass production of recombinant lipases. Later, he was appointed as Laboratory Officer (quality control) in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Govt. of India where his job profile involved quality control of food products according to various Indian Standards. Presently, he is working in the Department of Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology (Indian Institute of Technology Delhi) in the area of Microbiology and has an experience of more than ten years. He has published peer reviewed research articles in journals of International repute.
Dr. Kapoor Research interests include Screening, Isolation and Characterization of microorganisms producing therapeutic metabolites, Production of microbial biopolymers at small scale, Antimicrobial activity of metallic nanoparticles, Testing of food products for screening of potential pathogenic microorganisms and bacterial mitigation.
