Dr. Rajesh Kumar is a microbiologist and holds a doctorate degree in Dairy Microbiology from National Dairy Research Institute (ICAR), Karnal, India; a first class Masters degree in Microbiology from Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, India; and also possesses a Bachelors degree in Biology from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Merrut, India. He has also completed his ICMR-Post-Doctoral research from National Institute of Nutrition (ICMR), Hyderabad, India. He has qualified ICAR-NET 2014, 2015, 2017 & 2018 in Agricultural Microbiology. He has gained more than seven years experience in microbiology, probiotics, molecular biology and r-DNA technology research, and approximately 05 years of experience in environmental monitoring etc. He has worked on: i) bacterial (aerobic/microaerophilic/anaerobic) enumeration, isolation, propagation and identification; ii) designing of novel microbiological and enzymatic/colorimetric assay methods; iii) in vitro and in vivo assessment of probiotics for its survival under GI transit and cholesterol lowering attributes; iv) PCR and RT-qPCR assays, molecular cloning, heterologus expression and purification of recombinant proteins, FPLC-Affinity (Ni-NTA); v) neutraceuticals, functional foods, microencapsulation. In addition, he is experienced in environmental monitoring of eutrophic rivers and lakes. He is presently working as: i) Deputy Assistant Director in Central Research Institute (CRI), Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, India; ii) Officer in-charge of Filling Section of New DPT GMP Facility of CRI, Kasauli; and Officer in-charge of Bottling and Central Sterilization Media Sections of CRI, Kasauli. He is also engaged in teaching and guiding of M.Sc Microbiology students in CRI, Kasauli. He is a life-time member of the Probiotic Association of India. Dr. Rajesh Kumar has published seven research articles and two review papers in reputed Impact International Journals. Besides, he has published 02 book chapters in books published by International Publisher. He has also delivered oral and poster presentations in various international conferences and received best poster presentation awards twice.
