Dr. Changxiang Wang

Biography

Dr. Changxiang Wang was awarded a BEng degree in Surface Science and Corrosion Engineering by Beijing University of Science and Technology in 1990. He then undertook his MEng in Surface Science and Corrosion Engineering at Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, which he completed in 1993. He obtained his PhD in Biomedical Engineering (Biomaterials) from Sichuan University in 1997. After two years working on the functionally graded calcium phosphate coatings at West China University of Medical Sciences, Changxiang joined Nanyang Technological University in 1999 and worked on surface modification of titanium and its alloys by using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy. He moved to UK since 2001 and worked as a Research Fellow at University of Birmingham. After two years working at University of Portsmouth, Changxiang returned to University of Birmingham in 2008 as a Research Fellow to work on Toothpaste formulations and Toothbrush design. He has authored/co-authored a large number of research papers and has given many presentations. He is a frequent reviewer for International Scientific journals in the fields of Materials Science and Engineering, Biomaterials, and Tissue Engineering.
