Dr.J C Prasana was born on August 16, 1968, in Chennai, South India. He had his early education in Tirunelveli and higher education in Chennai, South India. After completing his Post Graduation in Physics from Madras Christian College, he joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, Voorhees College, in July 1990, and later migrated to Madras Christian College where he presently works as Associate Professor in the Department of Physics. While working in Madras Christian College he completed his Doctorate in Physics. He has a rich teaching experience of about 31 years at different levels. During his academic career he has guided 81 students at MSc, MPhil and PhD levels in Computational Physics, Molecular Docking and Crystal Growth and published 45 papers in high impact international journals. These publications facilitated him to apply to patent the Methodology to Identify a Potentially Pharmacological Drug for any kind of disease. He is a recipient of Life Time Achievement Award given by ARUNAI International. Seven papers were awarded as best paper at various international conferences. He is a member of various academic bodies in both government and non-government organizations. He has authored a book on Solid State Physics. These are a few of his achievements among many. He held various leadership positions in Madras Christian College and government bodies. Owing to such academic and leadership achievements he was conferred D.Sc. in Leadership Skills by the International Agency for Standards and Rating. He is an eminent educationist with sound knowledge in research – enabled teaching – learning – evaluation process, ever eager to update to the latest innovation and technology and a visionary with strong cognitive and leadership skills in staff and student governance. He is a go-getter who motivates his team towards academic excellence, social relevance and spiritual vitality in order to reach the utmost heights.
