Dr. M.R.A. Pillai is an expert in radioisotope production, radiopharmaceuticals chemistry and nuclear medicine. He is working as Group Director at the Molecular Group of Companies, Kerala, India since 2014. Molecular group is engaged in manufacturing radiopharmaceuticals for PET-CT imaging and also runs four nuclear medicine departments in Kerala. Dr. Pillai joined BARC Training School in 1975 after completing his graduation in chemistry. Dr. Pillai did his PhD from the University of Bombay in 1986. He worked at the University of Missouri-Columbia (UMC), USA as a Post Doctoral Research Associate (1987-89) and visited UMC in 1992 as Visiting Assistant Professor and in 1994 as Visiting Professor. He worked at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Austria during 2003-2010. He received six awards including the Distinguished service award during his seven year tenure at the IAEA. Dr. Pillai obtained his Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree from the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology (INCT), Poland in 2011 Dr. Pillai was a research guide for M.Sc and Ph.D in University of Mumbai and Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI). He was appointed as Head, Radiopharmaceuticals Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in 2000 and retired from Government Service in 2013. Dr. Pillai published more than 220 papers and has two US patents to his credit. He wrote three books and edited 14 books published by the IAEA. He has near 4000 citations in Google Scholar, an ‘H’index of 36 and i10 index of 100. His Academia Website has 31000 views and is followed by 1105 scientists. Dr. Pillai visited more than 55 countries during his professional life.
