Dr V Vijaya Lakshmi working as Professor and Head of the department of Resource Management and Consumer Sciences. She started her career in 1993 as Project officer in a research project sponsored by DST in M.S.University of Baroda, Vadodara. After that joined in teaching as Lecturer in the same university and worked till 1999 May. Then joined Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University (Erstwhile) in 1999 June as assistant professor in College of Home Science, Hyderabad. From 2002-2003 worked as scientist in Krishi vigyan Kendra, Undi, west Godavari; worked in District Agricultural Advisory and Transfer of technology centre from 2003-2006 at Guntur. Again transferred to teaching in the year 2006 to Hyderabad and worked as Associate professor and became professor in 2014. In 2017 transferred to research as principal scientist in All India Coordinated Research Project and promoted as Unit coordinator in the year 2019. Again in 2020 June promoted and transferred to College of community science (erstwhile college of Home science) as University Head. She got experience in teaching, research and extension. Served as external examiner for setting UG/PG question papers, paper and thesis evaluation, conducting viva voce for M.Sc. and Ph.D. students in 16 agricultural and 4 traditional universities. Three e courses were developed for ICAR UG programme which went online. So far 8 research projects have been completed as Principal/Co investigator worth of 37 lakhs. Published 50+ research articles in national journals, 4 in international journals, developed 8 training modules, 6 practical manuals, conducted one 21 days training programme at national level, delivered 15 guest lectures at National level institutes, published two books and 13 book chapters and one book is in printing by the publisher. Nearly 20 popular articles and 14 subject related posters were developed. One technology was developed for storing grains at household level. Several technologies were popularized and tested at field level. More than 20 vocational training programmes were conducted. Course in-charge for 34 courses in B. H. Sc (Home Science), one course for B.Sc (Food Science & Nutrition); 18courses in M.Sc and Ph.D. (Resource Management and Consumer Science) programme. Conducted coaching classes for final year degree students on how to prepare for JRF/SRF exams. Developed E-content for Home Science (Resource Management and Consumer Science) component on 18 topics for UGC website as a part of MHRD project during 2015 and 2016. Participated in various exhibitions and promoted drudgery reducing technologies to the farm women while working in AICRP-H.Sc during 2017-2020. Developed coffee books and bulletins in Telugu to create awareness among rural people regarding drudgery reducing technologies, water conservation, ill effects of plastic usage etc.
