Prof.Dr. Aydin Gunes had his BSc in Soil Science from Faculty of Agriculture, Ankara University in 1986, Turkey and then earned MSc. Degree in 1989 and PhD in 1994. His current position is Proffesor at the Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition of Ankara Universiy. He has owned science award of Ankara University in 1999 and 2003, and also awarded by TÜBİTAK for his SCI articles. 61 peer-reviewed international journal papers, Peer-reviewed journal papers received more than 1799 citations (January 2, 2019; according to ISI-Web of Science; Hirsch Index: 25. Prof. Gunes currently Head of the Department of Plant Nutrition. He has worked as committee member of Scientific Research Project Committee of Ankara University. He has also been working as scientific committee member of National Boron Institute (BOREN). He has editorial board member of Scientia Horticulturae.
Prof. Gunes been teaching plant nutrition, plant physiology, stress physiology, hydroponic technologies, fertilizers and fertilizer technology, nutritional disorders of plants. Main research interests evolve around the understanding of the mechanisms governing soil fertility; (ii) fertilizers and fertilizer use efficiency, (iii) agricultural waste management (iv) abiotic stress and plant adaptation mechanisms (salinity, drought, mineral nutrient deficiency and toxicity); (v) management of organic and organo-mineral fertilizers and their use in sustainable agriculture as good agricultural practices.
