From 2012 and actually, Prof. Dr Ivet KOLEVA, MD, PhD, DMedSc works as a professor in Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM) in the Medical University of Sofia, Bulgaria. Parallely, she is consulting PRM specialist in two hospitals in Sofia [National Heart Hospital (Department of Cardiorehabilitation – from 2015) and Multi-profile Hospital for Long-term care and Rehabilitation “Serdika” (Neuro-Rehabilitation /Rehab/; rheumatologic, orthopedic and traumatic Rehab – from 2018)]. She is graduated as Medical Doctor (in 1986) in the Medical University of Sofia, Bulgaria. After that she did her postgraduation in the same University and she is specialist in PRM and Neurology (1990 & 1995). She has obtained European Certificate of Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine – from 2008; and of Senior Fellow of the European Board of PRM - from 2017. She defended successfully 3 scientific theses: for Philosophy doctor (PhD) in PRM (2004; theme: ‘Investigation of capacities of some physical modalities in the prevention, therapy and rehabilitation of diabetic polyneuropathy patients’); for Doctor of Medical Sciences in PRM (2009 - ‘Complex neurorehabilitation algorithms for functional recovery and amelioration of independence in activities of daily living in socially significant invalidating neurological diseases’); for PhD in Pedagogics (2013 - ‘Innovations in the Education in the field of Rehabilitation’). The High Attestation Commission at the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria, bring to Dr Ivet Koleva the following scientific positions: Associated Professor – from 2006 and Professor – from 2012. Prof. Ivet Koleva has various publications in national and international journals. She has presented various research papers in national and international scientific forums. She is actively involved in many research projects in the rehabilitation field
As a specialist in PRM, Dr. Ivet KOLEVA is interested in the fields of Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine and of Clinical Rehabilitation (in neurological and neurosurgical patients; in rheumatologic, orthopedic and traumatologic cases; in cardiologic diseases and after cardio-surgical interventions). His research area includes: Orthopedic rehabilitation; Occupational therapy; Pain & Physical Analgesia, Grasp and Gait rehabilitation; Functional evaluation, Medical rehabilitation and Occupational therapy in neurological diseases & neurosurgical conditions; in rheumatological, orthopedical & traumatological conditions, in Cardiology & Cardio-surgery.
