Dr. V. E. Ida Christi

Biography

Dr. V.E.Ida Christi, A professor dedicated her life for learning and gaining knowledge and helped to develop young minds through teaching with professional socialization. She obtained her B.Sc., Botany degree from Madurai Kamaraj University, B.Pharm and M.Pharm(Pharmacognosy) degrees from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai and Ph. D degree from Periyar Maniyammai University, Thanjavur. Further she has got two Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management and Business Management. She started her career from an industry M/s. Astoria Research and Analytical as an analytical chemist and as a Senior Research Fellow in Herbal formulations Development Department in M/s Vaidyaratnam Oushadhasala. She started her academic profession from 2004 onwards from Cherraan’s College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore and after a short period of time she joined Karpagam college of Pharmacy, Coimbatore from 2009. Then she worked as a professor & DEAN in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, Coimbatore. Now she is working as professor in PSG College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore. In addition to this she has worked in well-established hospitals for nearly 2 years. She has 19 years of teaching and 4 years of industry experience. To her credit she has published a book titled ” Herbal Drug Technology” and published 24 research papers. She has received “ Best Faculty Award” and “ Women Researcher Award” from Science Father International Research Awards SHEN. As an enthusiastic and dynamic researcher, she has presented about 10 research papers and participated in more than 20 seminars, and national & international conferences. She believes that one of an important source of developing professional identity is teaching practice, role models make things easier for students learning and enable the patient-facing professionals, experiential learning and curriculum alignment with work practices in the pharma profession.
