LuÃs Manuel Lopes Rodrigues da Silva has a degree in Food Engineering from Institute Polytechnic of Viseu and a PhD degree in Microbiology from Faculty of Pharmacy of Porto University (FFUP). Since 2021-until now was researcher and teacher of Institute Polytechnic of Guarda, Portugal. LuÃs Silva participated in 11 research projects under contract, supervises/ed or co-supervises/ed 70 research students, including 7 PhD and 7 MSc students. He was co-inventor in an international patent concerning the application of selective medium for detection of Dekkera bruxellensis in wine. He participated in the evaluation panel of two international project and belongs to Editorial Board of 7 scientific journals and is reviewer of several scientific journals indexed at Journal Citation Reports from ISI Web He authored of more than 75 publications in journals indexed at Journal Citation Reports from ISI Web of Knowledge, two books, 22 book chapters from international editors, 50 oral communications and 150 as poster in national and international meetings. Her research interest’s concern medicinal chemistry, metabolomics applied to natural matrices, including plants, biological screening of natural products, establishment of composition/bioactivity relationships, food microbiology and chronic diseases, like cancer, neurodegenerative and anti-inflammatory diseases.
