Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayşe GÜNEŞ BAYIR works in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at The Bezmialem Vakif University, Istanbul, Turkey. She graduated at The University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, Austria. Her doctorate was also at the same university. Her research interest is in the area of cancer and nutrition with specialization in natural compounds, nutritional assessment of different human groups including healthy and patients, and probiotic foods. She has served as referee for a number of International and National journals. She has more than 9 years of teaching experience in Medical Biology&Genetics including molecularbiology, Cancer&Nutrition, Principles of Nutrition, General Microbiology, Food Chemistry& Food Microbiology, Food Safety, Hygiene&Sanitation. She has also published more than 100 scientific articles in the peer-reviewed national and international journals and authored or co-authored or editored for books and book chapters.
