Ariela Lowenstein, Prof. Emerita Head, Social Gerontology, Center for Research & Study of Aging, Graduate Dept. of Gerontology, Faculty of Social & Health Studies, Haifa University, Israel. 20 years she established the Gerontology Graduate Dept.& Center for Research & Study of Aging, heading them for first 5 years. She trained numerous scholars and doctoral students, and currently continued to do it. During 2012- 2016 she was President, Yezreel Valley Academic College. She publishes extensively, with 250 publications - 2 Hebrew books, co-editor 3 English books. Recipient, numerous competitive research grants, prestigious scholarships, national and international awards. She has reputed as a leading national and international Expert in aging. Past chair, Eu Behavioral, Social Science & Research, International Ass.of Gerontology; 5 years Chair, Israeli Gerontological Society, receiving life achievement prize. Honorary Fellow, GSA; Eu. Regional Rep., INPEA; Was COST Eu Network member on Elder Exclusion, Co-chair, Civic Exclusion group. Currently, leading Israeli group in a large research project within EU Horizon– Gendernet. She has MA, Public Administration, New York University; Ph.D. in Sociology, Hebrew University, Jerusalem.
