Dr. Morani is a behavioral pharmacologist with diverse background in screening compounds for their role in attenuating addiction, depression, pain, diabetic complications and post-traumatic stress disorders. He has a Bachelor’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Master’s in Pharmacy (Specialization in Pharmacology) from India. He finished his PhD in Cell and Molecular Biosciences at Victoria University of Wellington in 2011. Dr. Morani has experience in post-doctoral training from Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center and East Tennessee State University. Here he worked in establishing models for post-traumatic stress disorders. He has more than eight years of biomedical research experience in the field of addiction drug discovery, neuropathic pain, diabetic complications and stress induced neuropsychiatric illness. He is presently working as an Assistant Professor in Pharmacology at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Bradenton FL.
