prof. Mykola Ovcharenko is a professor of Biology at the Pomeranian University, Slupsk, Poland and prof. of Parasitology at Institute of Parasitology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Poland. He received her B.S. from Kiev State University and her Doctor degree from Institute of Zoology Academy of Sciences Az SSR, before eventually becoming scientist at Institute of Hydrobiology of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kiev. After ten-year career as a research scientist there, Dr. Ovcharenko becomes scientist position at Institute of Parasitology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. He returned to Kiev In 1997 where he was accepted a senior research scientist at Institute of Hydrobiology and (from 2003) Institute of Zoology, Kiev, Ukraine After obtaining of Habilitate Doctor Degree in W. Stefański Institute of Parasitology PAS Dr. Ovcharenko returned to Poland where she accepted a tenure positions at Institute of Parasitology and Pomeranian University. In addition to teaching dr Ovcharenko is a regular contributor to research projects and supervisor of young scientist’s. He currently works with his team on parasitological consequences of biological invasions of hydrobionts. Dr. Ovcharenko resides in Slupsk, Poland.
His research has focused primarily on understanding the role of microparasites in colonization of water resources by alien species. He is also investigate the morphology and ultrastructure of microsporidia, myxosporidia and other organisms previously classified as Protozoa. Comparative studies of the results of molecular diagnostics and classical methods of research are the priority areas of his recent research
