Prof. Marina Donova is the Head of Laboratory of Microbiological Transformation of Organic Compounds at the G.K. Skryabin Institute of Biochemistry & Physiology of Microorganisms, Russian Academy of Sciences, Pushchino, Russia; a member of Presidium of Russian Microbiological Society. She had got her DSci (Biology) level in 2007. Her fields of research interests comprise all aspects of steroid conversions by microorganisms including discovery of novel biocatalysts capable of performing known and rare reactions, isolation and identification of novel metabolites with potent therapeutic effects, investigation of metabolic pathways, regio- and stereospecific microbial hydroxylation of bile acids, generation of engineered strains with improved biocatalytic possibilities, physical chemical aspects of steroid bioconversions, development and scaling up of the biotechnologies. The competence and qualification of Dr.Donova is confirmed by over 100 peer reviewed papers (with three extended reviews), one monograph, 10 national patents and more than 100 conference papers with regard to steroid bioconversions.
