Dr. Ashok K Singh, presently working as Head of the Department, in Sardar Patel college of Pharmacy, Gorakhpur. I completed my M.Pharm. and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from BBAU (A Central University) Lucknow. After then, I got selected in an NIH funded Postdoctoral fellow in “The Pennsylvania State University, USAâ€, where I have awarded with a research trainee for the discovery of small molecules as cancer therapeutics. I have qualified several scholastic exams including CSIR-UGC-NET, Dec 2012 (From Chemical Sciences), GATE-2013 (From Life Sciences) and GPAT-2011 & 2013 (From Pharmaceutical Sciences) that reflects my multi-disciplinary approach in science. I am the principal and co-author of more than 50 research publications in various SCI/Web of Science/Scopus Indexed journals (among which 27 are in SCI indexed reputed Journals including Nature, Elsevier etc), 3 patents and 4 books in SCI journals. To tackle one of the world's most devastating disease cancer, my goal is to discover novel small molecules as cancer therapeutics utilizing synthetic and medicinal chemistry approach. My research key skills include Synthetic Organic Chemistry, design of novel drug like molecules, their in vitro as well as in vivo testing, to explore the molecular mechanism of novel drugs using qRT-PCR analysis for gene expression and Western blot analysis for protein expression, immunocytochemistry and cell cycle analysis using flow cytometry. In addition, NMR-based serum metabolomics study and data-based mathematical modeling over the experimental findings is also an interesting area for me.
