Dr. Asma Ansari did her masters in Microbiology from Department of microbiology, University of Karachi in 2006 and PhD in Biotechnology from KIBGE, University of Karachi (July 2010 – December 2013). In 2015 she was awarded postdoctoral fellowship from Erasmus Mundus EXPERTS4Asia. The postdoctoral research was on molecular interactions of Cas3 and HtpG proteins in CRISPR-Cas mediated immunity in Escherichia coli from University of Zagreb, Zagreb, Croatia. Currently she is serving as a Scientific Officer at The Karachi Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (KIBGE), University of Karachi, Karachi-75270 Pakistan. She has twelve years of hands on experience in wet lab. She is engaged in goal oriented research in the field of microbiology, biochemistry and biotechnology. In addition, the grant of Rs. 4.5 million have been awarded to Dr. Ansari as Principal Investigator for research project (Project ID: 3900) under the National Research Programme for Universities (NRPU) by Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan. During her research time period she published various research articles in reputed impact factor journals. She is also an author of the chapter published in Microbiology Monograph, Springer. She has attended several national and international conferences and awarded young scientist and various best oral and poster presenter awards.
Dr. Asma Ansari Research interest includes: Microbiology; Biotechnology, Nano biosciences and proteins purification and characterization.
