Dr.Shaukat Ali

Biography

After a brief tenure at the University, Dr Shaukat Ali joined the industry in 1994 and worked in drug discovery and formulation development areas. He has 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industries including 14 years at BASF, where he supports solubilization, instant and modified release platforms, and APIs. Dr Ali’s areas of expertise include solubilization, solid dispersions, self emulsifying drug delivery (SEDDS/SMEDDS), liposomes delivery, controlled release, transdermal, and film development technologies. Dr. Ali serves as a member of the editorial advisory boards of American Pharmaceutical Reviews, Biopharma Asia, Contract Pharma, Drug Development & Delivery, International Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation and Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacology. He is a member of the USP panel of expert for General Chapters-Physical Analysis, Continuous Manufacturing and Excipient Performance <1059> committees. He received his PhD in Organic Chemistry from the City University of New York and pursued his postdoctoral training in Physical Biochemistry at the University of Minnesota and Cornell University. He has authored over 45 scientific articles and is co-inventor in several US and European patents.
