Assoc. Prof. Dr. Priya Sathish

Biography

Dr.Priya obtained her Bachelor’s degree in (Microbiology, 2000), Post graduation (Environmental Toxicology, 2003), and Ph.D in (Pharmacology & Environmental Toxicology, 2009) from A.L.M Post Graduate Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Taramani, University of Madras. She started her career as Assistant Professor in Pharmacology in Sathyabama Dental College in January 2010. Presently she is Associate Professor & Head of Department of Pharmacology, Sathyabama Dental College. She possess 8 ½ years of experience in teaching pharmacology to under graduate and post graduate dental students. She has 8 years of experience as qualified Internal Auditor for sathyabama Institute of Science & Technology, to assess the Quality Management System as per ISO 9001:2008 standard (“DNV ceritificate of Training”). As a researcher she has been employed as JRF, SRF in DST and UGC-UWPFE projects. She has research papers in elsivier and other renowned publications to her credits. She has also written a chapter in book “Cancer Versus Nutraceuticals” for Nova Publications. During her research and professional career she has attended many international and national conferences, seminars, workshops, CDE and CME programmes. She has been an “invited speaker” for dental PG students on topics “Relevance and importance of preclinical invivo and invitro studies in dental research”. She is also honoured as resource person and as judge for selecting best scientific papers in many conferences. As part of academic duties she has been the question paper setter and external examiner for conducting pharmacology examination, member of Board of Studies for BDS and MDS, students councellor and anti-ragging squad member for Sathyabama Dental College. She is passionate for research and guiding Ph.D students and many dental students in many research projects. She is also a life member of Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists and Society of Toxicologist.

Dr. S. Priya Research Interests includes Pharmacology, Food and drug hepatotoxicology, Molecular Pharmacology, Nano-technology, Cancer Biology.
