Dr. Sonali is a Post-doctoral Research Associate in Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, UP. She obtained her Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (B. Pharm.) in 2008 and Master degree (M. Pharm) in Pharmaceutics in 2011. She completed her Doctorate degree (PhD) in Pharmaceutics (Targeted nanomedicines for cancer therapy) in 2017 from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. Dr. Sonali received prestigious Junior and Senior Research Fellowship from University Grants Commission, New Delhi at Department of Pharmacology, Institute of Medical Sciences, Baranas Hindu University, Varanasi, India during 2013-2016. From August 2016 to May 2017, she worked as an Assistant Professor in Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (Central University), Lucknow, India. As Assistant Professor, she taught M. Pharm scholars and supervised them during their dissertation. She is a leading researcher in biotechnology and pharmaceutical sciences. Her research expertise focussed on the development of different types multifunctional nanomedicine as targeted or theranostic platform to deliver diagnostic and theranostic agents simultaneously in effective cancer treatment. She is a registered pharmacist with Pharmacy Council of India, Uttar Pradesh, India. Dr. Sonali has received BIRAC-SRISTI-Gandhian Young Technological Innovation 2017 Award for healthcare innovation during PhD research work and also awarded with research grant. She has published a number of research articles in peer-reviewed journals and authored few books.
Dr. Sonali research interests include development of advanced drug delivery system such as micelles, liposomes and nanoparticles, nanoscience, cancer nanotechnology, theranostics nanomedicine, design and development of receptor targeted multifunctional theranostic nanomedicine systems to facilitate drug delivery in cancer therapy.
