Dr. Hatice Akkaya is working as biochemistry specialist at Yeditepe University Medical Faculty Experimental Research Center. Her works focus more on free radicals, enzyme kinetics, catecholamine metabolism, and neurodegenerative diseases. She is currently engaged in Alzheimer's disease. It is necessary to investigate all the factors that may be associated with Alzheimer's disease which has become a serious health and socio-economic problem in the World. Today, the cause of neuronal loss is still unknown. It has been suggested that exercise alleviates the consequences of neurological diseases such as depression, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson's disease She will investigate whether the beneficial effects of exercise on Alzheimer’s disease are mediated through a hormone metabolism that she is working with.
