Dr. Prakriti Sharma Ghimire has completed PhD from the Institute of Microbiology (IM), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). During PhD, her research work mainly focused on microbial genetics and their biochemistry, gene modification to observe how change in genetic make cause change in their behavior and function. She analyzed Aspergillus fumigatus cellulolytic gene expression for efficient lignocellulose degradation present in corn, wheat and soybean cell wall cellulose using proteomics and transcriptomics analysis; change in N-glycosylation pattern, mannosylation and phenotype in Trichoderma reesei, mechanism of protein translocation from golgi to outer membrane and biosynthesis and modification on microbial polysaccharide research. Currently, she is working as a postdoc researcher in Northwest Institue of Eco-Environment and Resources, Lanzhou, China. Her current research focus on microbial community and composition present in environmental samples such as air and water and to analyze their impact health and climate especially in the Himalayan regions. Dr. Sharma Ghimire is also working as a research scientist, administrator and active member in Himalayan Environment Research Institute (HERI), in Nepal.
Dr. Prakriti Sharma Ghimire research interets are molecular biology and biochemistry, microbiology, environment microbiology and microbial ecology
